Edition Two: Home Grown, Super Natural
As with everything we make, we strive to use 100% natural materials, but with the Scotland Edition this felt particularly important.
When people picture Scotland, it’s wild landscapes and equally wild weather that spring to mind. Nature, in all its glory, looms large north of the border and there’s a particular magic to Scotland’s soaring peaks, misty lochs and wave-whipped beaches.
So in creating our knitwear, we’ve gone the extra mile – not only using local yarn, grown in the highlands by hardy Hebridean sheep, but also local plants – found on the Isle of Skye and used to create a range of natural colours. Teaming up with Shilasdair – Skye locals and experts in natural dyeing – we’ve developed a series of plant-dyed yarns – wool that’s not just inspired by, but made by the Scottish landscape.
These yarns will be used to make our first piece of headwear. Super-warm, ultra-soft and surprisingly light, our Islander Hat is a chunky fisherman-style beanie. Hand-knitted in Scotland, our yarn is grown by local sheep and spun in North Uist, before being dyed on the Isle of Skye using colours made by local plants.
All of our Islander knits will be released for pre-order mid-December, with a try-before-you-buy pop-up shop immediately beforehand – details to follow!
